Pre-Service Nursery is Back!
Has lack of childcare been a barrier to your attending our pre-service classes (Training Seminars and Text Group)? Well, beginning in September, nursery will now be offered starting at 8:45 AM. So drop off your kids and join us!

Youth Ministry
Youth group is kicking back up in September! The youth will be met twice a month as a group and once a month with different CrossWay families. The heart behind the youth meeting with different families is to engage and be involved with the greater CrossWay family. If you would like to volunteer to host the youth (ex: ice cream social, board games, cooking, grill-outs, bonfire, etc) or volunteer as a mentor please sign up at the Resource Table.

Upcoming Events

Gospel-Shaped Cultural Engagement (Training Seminar) | Sundays in Sept. | 8:45 AM | Alverno
How should Christians faithfully engage our increasingly post-Christian culture? Join Kirk for this four-week training seminar and group discussion utilizing Russell Moore's book Onward: Engaging the Culture Without Losing the Gospel. The so-called "foolish" gospel would call us to embrace the “strangeness” of Christianity. Thus, the Christian mission has great potential precisely in a society where a Christian veneer of nominalism is now out of style. Attendees are encouraged to read or listen to the book (find the reading schedule here). But doing so is not required in order to participate.

Fall Park Meet Ups | Tuesdays in Sept. & Oct. | 9 - 11 AM | Blum’s Coffee Garden
Join us every Tuesday morning at Blum's Coffee Garden in the months of September and October. We will be located in the playground area. This park is fenced in and uniquely located at a coffee shop so no need to bring a caffeinated beverage! (They also sell wonderful baked goods.) We will cancel if the temperature is below 55 degrees. Additionally we will cancel if rain is in the forecast. So be sure to check your weather app before running out the door! For questions, feel free to contact Annie Miller.

Men’s Retreat | Sept. 15th - 16th | The Woods, Fredonia, WI
We will be hosting our first ever men's retreat from 5 PM, Fri., Sept. 15th to 3 PM Sat., Sept. 16th at The Woods (www.thewoodscamp.org -- 9025 Camp Awana Rd, Fredonia, WI 53021). The cost is $115 per person, which includes three meals (i.e. dinner, breakfast, lunch). Boys of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join us (note they will be with the men for two sessions). Please RSVP with Dan Allen or Nick Matula ASAP.

Getting to Know CrossWay (Membership Class) | Sun., Sept 10th & 17th | 12 - 2 PM | Miller Home
At CrossWay, we believe it is the Biblical pattern and privilege for every believer to publicly join themselves to a local church. If you are not yet an official member of CrossWay, we would highly encourage you to attend this class to learn more about our church and what it means to become a member. Lunch will be provided; so if you plan to attend, please RSVP with Kirk.

Cru's All Campus Brewer's Game and Tailgate Party | Fri., Sept. 15th | 5 PM | American Family Field

Discipleship Opportunities
We want to make you aware of a new discipleship/mentorship initiative. The Personal Development Assessment is now available to fill out on the website. Once submitted, an elder will reach out to review your responses and help you create a plan for growth. And in addition to other training ministries (e.g., Text Group, Training Seminars), we look forward to connecting you with one-on-one (Mentorship) or smaller group ("Growth Groups") discipleship opportunities with other members in the church. We encourage all members of CrossWay to fill out the Personal Development Assessment each year.

Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper | Book Recommendation
The American Dream beckons us to waste our lives on trivial diversions like "success," pleasure, and comfort. In contrast, in his book Don't Waste Your Life, pastor John Piper directs us to scripture's call to live lives that matter for eternity. Piper directs us to live with a single, unifying, all-embracing, all-transforming passion for God's glory--which also will mean our highest joy.

Current Series - The Gospel According to Mark | The Unexpected King
According to Mark, Jesus is the coming King who is bringing God's kingdom. But the sort of King he is, and the sort of kingdom he brings, is quite unexpected. Jesus is a king who suffers and serves. And he calls his followers, the citizens of his kingdom, to do likewise—to walk in his way and carry their cross.
